Welcome to the Harwich Sea Shanty and Maritime Music weekend!! As always it will be a time of music both old and new – shanties which were sung on the sailing ships of old, to keep what was often a crew of very mixed experience working as a team. To new shanties written very recently – some sad, some funny and some nostalgic but put altogether will make up a very enjoyable weekend.

There is very little music around these days which can evoke so many thoughts of a very real time in history. So please relax and enjoy the music and we hope that this CD will bring many happy memories.

As ever thanks must go to the artists who sing the songs and play the music, to those who have spent many months organising the whole time, venues and who will entertain you. To all the local people who have always welcomed everyone.

We hope this CD will entertain you and act as a reminder of a great weekend in Harwich.
